The Art of Cretan Flowers
12th Feb 2016
These superb silk collages are by artist Amanda Richardson, and were inspired by her Greentours trip to Crete in the spring of 2015.
She dyes the silks herself and produces these images in her studio three miles from Lands End in Cornwall. The Wild Anemone and Tulip piece measures 31 inches x 36 inches and is on disply with Cornwall Crafts Association at Trelissick until 2nd May. She is currently working on two more pieces for their exhibition opening at Trelowarren on 29th February, with the White Mountains as the focus.
‘One collage is to be of the crocus, the other of the scilla. The snowy location was so superb and I am very excited by these. Another cyclamen piece is also in the pipeline.’
