Phil Benstead
Phil Benstead started off his working life in avian conservation for the RSPB after a childhood in Norfolk filled with the pursuit of his first love – birds. Chasing birds occupied much of Phil’s early adult life as he travelled on independent and often lengthy trips. It has been over 25 years since he first worked for Greentours and his journey as a natural historian really began as he was actively encouraged to look at other groups of wildlife. A love of Lepidoptera, reptiles, amphibians and especially dragonflies and damselflies has developed. On trips with Phil you are never sleeping far from the ghostly glow of his moth light set-up. Phil lives in Sweden with a patient and very supportive wife and family.
