Lake Van is a wonderful base to explore the flowers of Eastern Anatolia. Scenically sublime, the montane steppes are full of beautiful flowers, especially Fritillarias, Tulips and Irises. There are all sorts of other lovely flowers too. These images were all taken on our tour to the region in the later half of May 2023. This gallery concentrates on the flora, but the birds, butterflies and scenery are all special too -those for another gallery perhaps!?
