Sulawesi 2014

Although only a couple of hundred miles away from neighbouring Borneo, the wildlife of this bizarrely-shaped island is so very different. Separated from Sundaland by the Wallace Line it ensures a steady stream of remarkable new creatures. My gallery is a composite of three visits to Tangkoko National Park (2004, 2009 and 2014 as an extension to the Borneo TTL tour). The highlight as always are the gorgeous little Spectral Tarsier, which are readily seen and photographed at a number of big Strangler Fig tree roosts. As well as these there are wonderful forest kingfishers and Crested Black Macaques. What the rest of the island holds one only wonders, it must be good whatever it is. Chris Gardner
