A fabulous part of the world for photography, truly wild, yet with amazingly approachable wildlife from marine mammals to the many birds, and some fine flowers too. Despite a lack of trees and major peaks the windswept landscapes of the Falklands are still wonderful for their immense skies and the sense of being away from it all. It has to be said my Falkland offerings here are not my best, and date from the creaky days of slide photography, and a lack of good tripod! My Chilean photos are a definite improvement (using digital cameras and a good tripod) and have captured an essence of the magnificent Torres del Paine national park with its stunning mountains and showy flora. I’m itching to get back down south this year for what promises to be a memory card-filling experience.
