Tony Greenfield grew up in Lincolnshire, graduated from the University of Liverpool, hit the road, and he and his canoe washed up on the beautiful shores of the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia. He has spent 35 years in the mountains of Western Canada as a silviculture contractor during which time his company planted 80 million seedlings. Tony began recording birds in BC in 1971 and is a past president of the BC Field Ornithologists. His other interests extend to butterflies, botany, trees, geology and geomorphology and he authored the best-selling ‘The Waterfalls of British Columbia’. For the past 15 years he has been guiding tours in western North America from Arizona to the Yukon.
