Romain Barriere is an engineer with a Masters degree in ecology and management of biodiversity from the Université Montpellier III. He moved to New Caledonia where he researched the vegetation of the ultramafic (nickel) soils of the North Province at the Institute for Research for development (IRD) in Noumea. Since then he has been running his own ecological consultancy working with the island’s mining companies in an effort to reduce their environmental impact. Romain is of course a French speaker, but he also has a good working knowledge of English and is passionate about botany, biodiversity, and the environment, something he is very keen to share with visitors to New Caledonia.
Romain will be leading the following tours:
03/11/2018 - 16/11/2018
