Michele Zaccagno was born in Abruzzo, in the centre of Italy, where mountains host a lot of animals like wolves, bears, and chamois. There, he fell in love with nature and learnt to respect it. He studied first environmental science and then he decided to concentrate his passion on animal behaviour studying ethology at Turin University. He focused his master thesis project on the lemur Indri indri a species that inhabits the tropical forests of Madagascar, where he spent some months collecting data on its spatial ecology and behaviour. Currently he is a Ph.D. student and he is working on butterfly conservation in order to understand how climate change affects this sensitive group of invertebrates and how they react. He enjoys walking, driving, cooking, photography and spending time exploring new butterfly habitat.
Michele will be leading the following tours:
01/06/2019 - 08/06/2019
