Hugo Sampaio

From Coimbra in Central Portugal, Hugo Sampaio works for SPEA, a Portuguese NGO whose mission is to support research and conservation of wild birds and their habitats. He has been involved in a wide variety of projects including the Portuguese Atlas of Wintering and Migratory Birds, the Portuguese Atlas of Breeding Birds, Obo Natural Park, and monitoring the Azores Bullfinch population. More exotically he has been working on critically endangered bird conservation in Sao Tome and Principe. He has led wildlife-watching trips to those fabulous islands as well as in Portugal and the Azores.
